Will Your Travel Insurance Get You Mel Gibson?

Have you seen a film that has made you afraid to travel? Films like ‘Taken’ and ‘Ransom’ should serve as a warning to prepare properly with travel insurance. Spare a thought for the businessmen that travel all over the world on behalf of their companies; they have their business travel insurance to lean on, but not Denzel Washington to come to the rescue.

Hollywood is in the business of exaggerating for effect. Nonetheless, there have been plenty of movies where one poor character gets abducted and the hero has to find them.
Who can forget the ordeal of Meg Ryan’s husband in “Proof of Life” when he is held in a jungle in South America? Such films make you wonder how risky travelling really is, and if your travel insurance will pay for Russell Crowe and the helicopter to get you out.

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office is a good place to start when planning a journey; it has the latest safety advice about travel to countries around the world, as well as guidance on local customs. Make a visit to the FCO site part of your preparations before your trip, along with checking your travel insurance policy and arranging a transfer to the airport.

Abductions Abroad

In recent years, we’ve heard plenty about abductions abroad, but should we be concerned? In the startling drama “Man on Fire,” Denzel Washington is a bodyguard who goes to extreme lengths to secure the whereabouts of the kidnapped Dakota Fanning. “There were twenty four kidnappings in Mexico city in the last six days,” she says just before she’s taken.

In one scene, a kidnapper pleads, “I’m just a business man,” before Denzel blows him up. What people don’t realise is that it’s usually the businessmen rather than the children that get abducted. Often, larger companies will have bespoke business travel insurance with separate kidnap cover to help deal with the problem.

Because they are associated with large amounts of money, businessmen are targeted for abduction almost every day around the world, with businesses are contacted directly by the kidnappers. What’s alarming – and is not common knowledge – is that companies with special business travel insurance frequently don’t report incidents, sometimes because it can be dangerous to do so, and often because they things are resolved quickly.

Real Cover for Business
Kidnapping aside, if while travelling an incident prevents you from making it to the meeting, more conventional business travel insurance will cover the costs of sending someone to take your place at the boardroom table. This may not be much of a comfort to you, but your company at least can feel more secure.

Usually (and thankfully) you’ll need business travel insurance for mundane reasons like lost luggage and illness. Good Business travel insurance policies will provide a 24-7 emergency telephone service to call if you need medical advice. Hopefully that will be the only call for help you’ll ever have to make.

If you are a frequent traveller, annual business travel insurance will work out a better deal, but make sure you have adequate travel insurance cover, because you can’t always rely on Mel Gibson to save the day.

5 Reasons to Get Business Travel Insurance

1371175695_0c305e28da

Whether it is a brief visit to another part of the country or a week long trip abroad, business trips to visit critical clients and other important companies are a vital part of keeping any business running successfully; and for every trip, you’ll need some kind of business travel insurance. If you only have to travel every once in a while, single trip cover may be sufficient, but if you travel many times each year you’ll want to invest in some annual business travel insurance. Either way, there’s no excuse to scrimp: here are five situations when the small cost of insurance could save you a lot of hassle…

The other company cancels the meeting at the last minute…

An ordinary holiday can be cancelled for all kinds of reasons, but for a business trip there are even more factors that can lead to a meeting being cancelled or rescheduled, leaving you or your company to foot a significant cancellation bill. Business travel insurance will cover cancellation as standard, so even if things change at the last minute, your costs will be covered.

You fall on or before the trip…

If you fall ill on or just before a crucial business trip and there is no-one to replace you, the consequences for your company could be catastrophic. Most good business travel insurance packages will cover the cost of replacing you with a work colleague (including their flights and accommodation) so that the trip can be concluded successfully in your absence.

Some vital equipment is lost or stolen…

Whether it is a PDA filled with important information on it or an expensive laptop with a crucial presentation, most business trips can revolve around a vital piece of equipment – if it is lost or stolen, it can hurt your wallet and ruin the business trip. Annual business travel insurance will provide you with year round cover for business equipment that is lost or stolen while you are away (and in most cases, they will pay for a courier delivery of the new item.) Of course, the data may be irreplaceable, so make sure that you back up any critical information on a USB stick.

Business travel is excluded from your existing insurance…

Many people assume that they have cover for business in the annual travel insurance they already have, but this often isn’t the case. Many travel insurance policies are for holidays only and have exclusions for business travel. Read the small print carefully, and make sure you get full travel insurance for business trips if you aren’t covered.

You need to be hospitalised after an accident…

Whether it is just a cracked rib or something much more serious, medical care abroad while you are uninsured is no laughing matter. With so many business trips to America (which can have medical costs running into thousands of pounds) it really pays to have some decent business travel insurance. As outlined above, many standard travel insurance policies exclude business trips, so make sure you get the right kind of cover and avoid the threat of massive medical costs.

The Quad

My daughter Meg runs a little daycare business in Cambridge, Ontario. She originally trained at Sheridan College, Oakville, to be a gerontologist. For a number of years, she worked as a recreational program developer at Sunrise Assisted Living of Mississauga. When Gavin was born, she became concerned about the costs she would incur if she went back to work: daycare costs for Gavin and Tyler, travel, insurance, etc. She was also concerned about daycare quality and daily commute time. She figured that, if she opened her own daycare, she’d be ‘in’ almost as much money after taxes, as she would have earned by returning to her old job. She’d also be less stressed at the end of the day.

By regulation, she is allowed to care for up to five children per day, and her waiting list is huge.

Several months back, Karen and I bought her a used quad stroller. Here it is. Try pushing this sucker uphill when it’s got four kids in it.

Elvis Presley
Business Travel Insurance

There are many reasons to believe that Elvis Presley is dead. When the only arguments to believe otherwise come from crazed fans and supermarket tabloids, it is easy to dismiss the possibility that the King is still among us. However, the circumstances surrounding Elvis’s alleged death are quite mysterious and beg closer attention. As it turns out, there are many concrete reasons to believe that the King is still alive.

The Gravesite.

For Starters, Elvis’s name is spelled wrong on his headstone. Elvis’s full name is Elvis Aron Presley, but on his grave his middle name is spelled incorrectly with two a’s. His father would not have let this happen. When Elvis was born, his name was misspelled on his birth certificate, and his father went to great lengths to get the error corrected. The unique spelling of Elvis’s name was important to the Presley family.

Elvis’s current "resting place" is in between his father and his grandmother and not next to his mother where he had adamantly requested. It is doubtful that the people close to him would allow these things to happen. Elvis is a superstitious man – enough so that he wouldn’t tempt fate by putting his real name on a tombstone, or violate the ground next to his mother until he was ready to be placed there for good.

Death Certificate.

Elvis was very vain, and he was embarrassed about his recent weight gain – an astonishing 50 pounds in the month before his so-called death. Even though he weighed about 250 pounds at the time of his "death," his death certificate lists him at a spry 170 pounds. The original death certificate disappeared, and the current death certificate is dated two months after his alleged death.

The Wax Body Theory.

This argument is very convincing when the facts are considered. Elvis’s coffin required several pall bearers because it weighed 900 pounds. Attendants of the funeral reported that the air around the coffin was rather cool. It is suspected that the coffin contained an air conditioning unit to keep a wax body cool – a wax body that was a replica of the King designed to fool funeral-goers. And how did the Presley family get a 900 pound, custom made coffin ready for a funeral that was held on the day after his death? It takes a lot of time to build such an elaborate coffin.
And why have the funeral so quickly? Some speculate that the immediacy was intended to make it as difficult as possible for the people who were Elvis’s biggest fans (heads of fan clubs, etc.) to attend the proceedings. It could be a concern that they might recognize the flaws in the wax replica.
Elvis was an 8th degree black belt whose hands were rough with calluses, yet the body in the coffin had hands that were soft and pudgy. The body in the coffin had a pug nose and arched eyebrows (unlike Elvis) and most importantly, one of the sideburns on the "corpse" was loose and falling off. A hairdresser later reported gluing the sideburn back on the body.

Unusual Behavior.

Two hours after Elvis’s death was announced publicly, a man who reportedly looked remarkably like Elvis purchased a ticket for Buenos Aeries, paid in cash, and used the name John Burrows: the same name Elvis had used as an alias several times before.
Elvis had a few books that were considered to be his most prized possessions. He had a bible, several pharmaceutical books, books on death, and most importantly Chiro’s Book of Numbers and The Autobiography of Yogi which I will explain more about later. After Elvis’s death was announced, these books disappeared and were never recovered.
In the weeks preceding his alleged death, Elvis’s actions were not those of a man who was about to embark on an extensive US tour. He ordered no new suits despite having gained 50 pounds since his last tour, and he bid "adios" at his last show in Hawaii. He had never done this before. Adios, like the French adieu, has the significance of being a final good-bye as opposed to an "I’ll be seeing you on my next tour" kind of good-bye.

Others were intrigued by the King’s decision to sign a lucrative TV deal with NBC that would cover the tour. It was unprecedented for a network to pay such a large amount up front, in cash, for such a deal. Many wonder why Elvis even agreed to the deal since his vanity discouraged him from making public appearances due to his obesity.
RCA showed uncanny (and unbelievable) foresight by mass producing millions of Elvis’s current and previous recordings and merchandise. This is standard practice for an act that is about to go on tour, but the numbers in this case were beyond reasonable expectations. The announcement of Elvis’s death caused record sales to skyrocket.
Elvis did other unusual things that created suspicion. First, he fired several employees that he had relied upon for a long time. Also, two days before his alleged death, Elvis telephoned a friend of his named Miss Foster. He told her that he wasn’t planning on going on the upcoming tour. She asked him if he had canceled it, and he said that he had not. When she asked if he was ill, he said that he was fine, and that she should not ask any more questions or tell anyone anything, and that she should not believe anything she read. He told her that his troubles would all soon be over, and that he would call her in a few weeks. The author of Elvis Where Are You? writes that Miss Foster took a polygraph test regarding this story, and that she was not lying.

The day after Elvis’s alleged death, a woman named Lucy De Barbon, a former lover of Elvis, received a single rose in the mail. The card indicated that the flower was from "El Lancelot." This had been her pet name for Elvis, and it was a name that no one else knew. Flowers can’t be sent from beyond the grave. This was Elvis’s way of letting her know that he was not dead, even though he didn’t want to be found.

Chiro’s Book of Numbers.

Elvis had a fascination with numerology – an interest he fed by reading Chiro’s Book of Numbers. The theory that the King orchestrated his death is further supported when considering the significance of the date of his alleged death. The date in question is August 16,1977. By adding the numbers in the date, 8, 16, and 1977, you get 2001. This is the title of Elvis’ favorite movie in which the hero plans his immortality in the bathroom. Elvis spent a considerable amount of time doing the same: planning his afterlife on the john. Elvis spent so much time in the bathroom that he had his toilet converted into a reclining comfy chair. Coincidentally, the bathroom is also where Elvis’s body was reportedly found.

Given Elvis’s religious affiliation (Christianity), he had a fascination with things that come in threes i.e. father, son, and holy ghost. The sum of the digits from his favorite film (2+0+0+1) is three. Let’s consider the triad of the repetition of the number 24. 2001 (favorite film) less 1977 (year of death) is 24. The two numbers from the day of death (8/16) when added up equal 24. The sum of the digits in the year of death (1+9+7+7) also equals 24. That is 3 occurrences of the number 24 which is divisible by 3, and when divided by three the result, 8 has a perfect cubed root (2x2x2=8).
Elvis loved numerology, and when you consider the numeric significance of the date of his alleged death, it is clear that if indeed he did plan to fake his death, he could not have chosen a better date.

Motive.

Elvis had many reasons to fake his death. Elvis’s life was in danger. He had recently lost ,000,000 in an airplane/real estate deal with a California based organization called the "Fraternity" that had links to the Mafia. It is speculated that he corroborated with the government to expose the organized crime ring in exchange for protection – perhaps in the form of a new life and identity compliments of the witness relocation program.

In addition, Elvis was a prisoner of his own fame. He had many other reasons to leave his life behind. Because of his incredible popularity, he was the recipient of several death threats, and he was concerned about the safety of his wife and daughter. Sometimes when he wanted to leave Graceland, he would send out look-alikes to distract would be followers. Elvis was also known to ride in the trunk of someone else’s car to avoid detection. Once, when he fell ill in Las Vegas, he couldn’t get proper medical attention because the hospital was overwhelmed by fans.
At the time of his alleged death, Elvis was nearing the end of his career. He was 42, his hair was graying, he was grossly overweight, and his voice was starting to weaken. He was going down hill, and he was too proud to go out with a whimper. He would never want his fans to see him in such an unhealthy condition.

Elvis had shown a fascination with death on several occasions. In the days leading up to his alleged death he was reported to have visited funeral homes at odd hours of the night with close friends. Was he doing research? Elvis once faked his death by setting up an elaborate shooting in which a would be killer fired blanks at Elvis who had a blood pack which he discharged. It was Elvis’s intention to see how the people closest to him would react to his death. Perhaps what he learned convinced him to do it for real.

Finally, one of Elvis’ favorite books is the spiritual Autobiography of Yogi. One of the central themes of this book is the relinquishing of one’s wealth and earthly possessions to achieve spiritual oneness. Elvis could do this, as well as address his other concerns of sanity and safety by faking his death and living in exile.

Means.

Elvis had the means to fake his own death. He is accused of destroying himself with drugs. In reality, Elvis was a pharmaceutical expert. He took a lot of drugs, but he knew what he was doing and was extremely careful. He knew what drugs he could self-administer to create a deathlike state. Further, Elvis’s experience with the martial arts was such that he could slow his heart rate and breathing in order to feign death.

Elvis’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, had once created a new identity for himself. He came to this county as an illegal immigrant from Holland, but through various connections managed to create an elaborate identity complete with a passport, birth certificate, drivers license, and social security number. He would have known how to give Elvis a second life.

In addition to Elvis’s ties to the government through his testimony against the Fraternity, Elvis was known to interact with the President of the United States. He was reported in government documents to use the name John Burrows as an alias when he wanted to travel. Some people believe that Elvis worked for the government as a drug agent. He did, after all have extensive contact with many people in the music business who, as we know, tend to dabble in illegal substances. (Remember Payola?.. ) And, of course, we must allow that Elvis’s connections to the government gave him access to the Witness Relocation Program. If they can turn the Simpsons into the Thompsons, they can relocate anybody.

No New Music, Orion?

Many believe that Elvis couldn’t have given up performing cold turkey. I imagine that after a while the desire to perform grew once he started his life in exile. The story of Orion supports the theory that Elvis attempted an incognito comeback.

Shortly after Elvis’s death, a masked singer by the name of Orion emerged on the scene. He was big like Elvis, and he sang just like Elvis. Because of the mask, no one could tell his true identity. One fan described seeing Orion from near the stage. She claims that Orion left the stage between songs, and when he appeared moments later the sweat was gone from his armpits and back and she thought that his costume looked slightly different. After the song he left the stage, and the original Orion returned.

Another fan described how she rushed into a tour bus at an Orion show only to see two Orions in the back of the bus. She claimed that one ducked into the bathroom before she could get a good look at him, but he appeared to look like Elvis Presley.

What’s even more remarkable is the fictional story called Orion that was written by Gail Brewer-Georgio about a legendary performer who had several identities and wanted to fake his death. The story was written and submitted to the William Morris Agency for publication consideration after Elvis’s death and before the real Orion ever performed. As it turns out, there are many ways in which the real Orion mimicked the events as described in the book. For example, the performers’ managers had the same name. Also, without knowing it, Brewer-Georgio wrote of events in Orion that had actually taken place in Elvis Presley’s life. It was a case of life imitating art.

Picking up the Pieces.

In 1981, 20/20 did an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged death of Elvis Presley. The investigative report was very convincing. Oddly enough, within two weeks of the report, the singer, Orion, disappeared and was never heard from again. The book, Orion disappeared from shelves across the country. It had been recalled by the publisher which was associated with the William Morris Agency. Incidentally, the William Morris Agency is the same agency that represented Elvis Presley.
I even tried to order a copy of the book, but was unable to. The woman at the book store said she couldn’t tell me why…….

It seems that Elvis Presley is worth more dead than alive. By faking his death and relocating with a new identity, he is safe from his fans and the Fraternity, the government can make a solid case against the organized crime ring, and RCA, Elvis’s family, and Elvis’s management can all reap immense financial benefits from the attention.

That is… except for one benefit. No one has collected on his life insurance policy.

Date: 1983-1985

Maker: Oscar de la Renta

Designer: Oscar de la Renta

Description:

Red, heavy weight silk organdy with moire weave; DRESS-bias-cut bodice with shoulder straps; shaped waist-to-hip yoke; full gathered skirt; left side zipper opening; bodice lined; skirt lined in organza; SASH-four-inch-wide single layer; overcast edges.

Background:

This dress was most likely worn to a charitable event by the donor. Born in Iran, she was educated in England. When she visited the United States during a summer school break, she met and married an American. She became actively involved in many New York City charities and political causes. She could not remember specific events to which she wore this dress, but it was most likely among these.

The dress was made by Oscar de la Renta. Born in 1932, he is the son of a Dominican Republic insurance agent and his wife. At the age of 17 he traveled to Madrid, Spain to study art, as he wanted to be a painter. To pay for his art studies, he began sketching for leading Spanish fashion houses. He first thought seriously about a career in fashion when he designed a debutante gown for the daughter of the U.S. ambassador to Spain. A photographic story of the party to which she wore it appeared in Life magazine. Soon after, he landed a job at Eisa, Balenciaga’s couture house in Madrid. In 1961, he was hired as an assistant to Antonio del Castillo at the Lanvin-Castillo couture house in Paris. Following the same course as Castillo, de la Renta moved to New York in 1963 to design the custom-made collection at Elizabeth Arden.
In 1965, he joined the wholesale house of Jane Derby, and became a partner in the business. After Derby’s retirement in 1967, he changed the name of the company and produced luxury women’s ready-to-wear. De la Renta became known for his feminine, romantic, and dramatic evening clothes utilizing elaborate fabrics and embroideries. This dress is evidence of this in its use of an unusual moire silk. In 1993 de la Renta was hired by the House of Balmain to design its couture collection, becoming the first American designer since Mainbocher to design couture in Paris, France.

Even if you are medically insured in your home country, then also the liability of discharging the medical expenses lies upon your shoulder as that plan covers you only in the home country and not in a foreign country. And of course, Government will also not be responsible for incurring such expenses. This is why travel insurance is as indispensable as is your passport or travel tickets, no matter what is your travel destination. If you believe that the travel insurance plan is not within your means, then you must drop your travel plans as well.
In essence, travel insurance is a type of insurance that covers the holder of the policy for the insurable situations that takes place before or during travel like trip interruption/cancellation, theft or loss of baggage, medical expenses for illness or injury, and more.

The cost of travel insurance depends on several parameters. First is the type of insurance cover. There are many types of insurance plans available such as low-cost plan, comprehensive plan and multi-trip plan. Obviously low cost plan will be comparatively cheaper than the other two plans and multi-trip plan will be the costliest among three as it covers the trips taken during one whole year. The cost of the plan is also based on the destination of travel and the length of the stay. Another factor that decides the cost is the age of the insured and pre-existing medical conditions. The cost will be more for the elderly person or if the person is suffering from a serious illness. Since there are a vast range of travel insurance policies available in the market, you need to carefully choose a policy according to your travel plans and circumstances.

If you are among those people who are making plans to travel to Europe for business-related or leisure-related purposes, in particular, in those parts of Europe that follow the rules of Schengen Treaty, it is necessary to acquire a Schengen Visa. It must provide the required medical coverage and repatriation for the entire period of the traveler’s stay in the Schengen territory. In case you are applying for the multi-trip Schengen Visa, you need to present the proof of annual Schengen visa country plan with adequate medical coverage.

At the time of planning a trip to a Schengen country of Europe, often, a lot of people are uncertain about whether they require Schengen visa or not to enter that country. The nationals of the countries which are enlisted below need to obtain Schengen visa which allows them to enter any of the member countries of the Schengen area.

Author of this article is a notable insurance provider offering a wide range of Schengen visa country plans for the visitors planning a trip to Schengen region of Europe. For the Schengen Visa, it is mandatory to get the Travel insurance schengen.

Monument – Moel y Golfa
Business Travel Insurance

The inscription is intriguing.

This is certainly one of the most unusual memorials I have seen. This monument was built in 1963 by the son (Uriah Burton) of Ernest Burton, a Romany Chell (Chief). After Uriah’s own death in 1986, a second inscription was added in his memory.

The monument was built by friends and acquaintances of the Burton’s. Allegedly, some contributed their labours under duress. This is not an accessible site, standing atop a pretty steep climb with no easy tracks to the top along which vehicles could travel, and it is a not inconsiderable achievement to have got the massive stones into place on top of the monument.

Here is a transcription of the newspaper article (in the link above) from "The People" Sunday newspaper of November 1963. The item is written by Uriah "Big Just" Burton and tells an amazing story of very hard graft and brotherhood:

It seems that a lot of people have fear of me after the kidnappings last week. I want to explain about it and about the handcuffs.

I want to put things right for the ordinary people who have fears that I might come after them.

Some people have been saying the kidnappings were all a joke. They were no joke. They were real. But everyone who has been taken by me has been connected with me and my men. And they have either given their word to work on the stone or boasted that nothing would persuade them to do so.
This made it a sort of challenge in my mind. I was determined to prove them all wrong.

I am a gipsy and I am proud of it. My word is my bond.
But I will start at the beginning.

The father was a Romany Chell (Chief), a good man, loved and respected wherever he went, especially in Wales, where he was born and lived most of his life.

He was a dealer in cattle and horses and he was a breeder of horses.

With my brothers and sisters we travelled with him. We lived under the stars, out in the country. I have never lived in a house in my life.

As the years passed we had to progress like other gipsy families. Our old caravan disappeared. Motor cars and trailers took their place, but the work was the same and we were still free.

Come spring we would have 50 foals running the road. I helped the father break them in. I learned about horses, loved the life.

Then the father died. He was (50/59?). Before he died, three years back, he had asked us his children, that he be cremated and his ashes spread on the Welsh mountains he knew and loved so much.

I went up into an aeroplane to carry out that last wish.
Some think that was when I decided to put up the The Stone as a remembrance. A time of mourning is not a time to think of actions.

It was later that our family pledged to put up The Stone.
There had been nothing like it anywhere in the country, probably in this whole world.

Moel-y-Golfa was picked because it was the highest of the Breidden Hills and because it was covered in trees. The owner of the land gave his permission. We went to see contractors. They said the task was impossible.

I had made a pledge. It could not be "impossible."

With relatives and god friends we went to Wales to start the job.

It was hard work. We had to make a road up the mountain. The weeks went by. Word began to go around about what we were doing. Some people sneered at us.

Other people, business men, promised to come and help.
Then, when the time came to go to Wales, they said they were too busy with their business.

I found that this was not always true. They were going to parties. They were not too busy for that.

HANDCUFFS
But they had made a promise and should keep it.

That was when I decided to use the handcuffs, mainly as a joke and a sort of insurance that they would not break their word gain.

We had waited a long time for the main stone for a memorial.
It came from Cornwall and we had to wait until they had two pieces big enough for a main part.

I didn’t want an ordinary monument that would crumble away in time. I wanted something that would last forever.

When the stone arrived I started the kidnapping.

It began in Scotland down through England to Wales.
I got a bus to take the men. All the people who had given their word to help, inclduing those who had broken it, were taken by us, put in cuffs and taken to Wales.

That first weekend we had 75 men.

Some didn’t like it. They were mad at us. I wasn’t worried by their threats.

But I had taken them along with me in good faith and had the responsibility for them.

I had to feed them and give them somewhere to sleep. I had my big horsebox, a marquee and an articulator caravan.

£20 ON DRINK

I spent £40 on food for them and another £20 on drink.
All night there were arguments, then the dawn came.

We broke bread together and they began looking toward the mountain top. They wanted to get on with the job. The work was started.

There were all sorts of men there, some very rich men. Many had never done anything like it.

But at the end of the day they came to me and said they were proud to have had the chance to help.

I was ready to pay £4 a day to any man who worked for me.
Of those 75 men, only about ten took money from me.

In the end the others worked away as a matter of pride, to see the job through.

It was a hard job and a dangerous job. We had to move three blocks of granite, weighing 12½ tons, 10½ tons and five tons to the top. The road was a track of mud, in places very steep.
We had been lent an eight wheeler lorry by Mr. Arthur Hepworth of Norton, near Doncaster. He gave it free.

We loaded the granite onto it and with the bulldozers at the front and back we began the job. We would move only five yards at a time. As we went up the men kept blocking and scotching (fastening) the lorry.

Then the lorry stuck. It wouldn’t move at all. When it did it began to slide back.

My brother, Osiah, was in the cab of the lorry. He was the best man for the job. He was calm. I don’t think he knew the danger to him.

"I RESPECT THE LAW"

We put chains on the lorry, but they snapped like candles. With wire ropes we fastened it to trees, but it pulled the trees out by their roots. But somehow we got the lorry moving up again. And we got to the top. It took us two days.
I say that nothing is completely bad. In every man there is good. On that mountain the good in the men I had taken came out.

When we took them home, not one complained to the police. They wouldn’t have done it after being on the mountain.
Mind you, I respect the law. You must have it and I wouldn’t break it.

Today The Stone is nearly finished. I have had thousands of offers to help me since "The People" article last Sunday and when the opening ceremony takes place everyone will be welcomed.

We hope to have a priest there to bless The Stone.
The handcuffs have been put away and will never be used again. I have proved through them that there is good in every man if it is given the chance to come out.

Types Of Travel Insurance On Offer

15533250305_090f2faa03

As more and more of us choose to holiday each year, travel insurance policies have made sure that they produce travel insurance products that are suitable for each and every traveller. From long-term insurance to extreme sports cover, we have look at what is on offer.

The internet provides a wealth of information on this subject, allowing you to access even the most unusual of specialist travel insurance policies. The best rates are often found online and by using a handy price comparison website you can search for the cheapest deals very easily.

One way to save if you are frequent traveller is to opt for an annual travel insurance policy. Insurers may require you take a maximum or minimum number of trips each year for you to qualify, but it could work out far cheaper than insuring each of your trips separately.

If you are only planning on going on a single holiday, then single trip insurance is the option for you. You will be covered for baggage loss or damage, as well as for medical costs. The only restriction to look out for here is that some providers will only offer cover for a trip of a certain length of time.

If you are planning a long trip abroad, whether it is to visit relatives, study or work, there is now a long-term travel insurance product for you. These products tend to offer cover to travellers for the duration of a three month to eighteen month stay in a foreign country, although some insurers will cover you for even longer periods.

Sea cruises can be far less reliable than air travel as long spells at sea leave passengers more at the whim of the weather. Cruises often visit the Pacific and Caribbean islands which are areas more at risk from tropical storms and hurricanes. This means that cruises run a higher risk of cancellation than flights, and specialist cruise cover insures against this higher risk level.

Those travelling as a family or group will benefit from group or family travel insurance. This means that your group is insured as a whole and you do not have to go about insuring each member individually, which can prove to be a lot more expensive.

If you are a frequent business traveller, or you have employees who need to travel frequently throughout the year then business travel insurance is the product for you. Not only will any work-related equipment be insured on your trip against loss, damage or theft, but some policies will also pay for a colleague to be flown out in your stead should you fall ill and have to miss an important meeting or seminar.

For great deals on travel insurance including annual travel insurance with cancellation cover up to £5,000, visit AA Travel Insurance.

"Mmm, Travel"
Whipped these up for my mom today based on what was lying around the pantry and fridge – she’s off on a business trip soon and I wanted to give her something high fibre and protein with minimal fat and a touch of sweetness to keep her going. Buttermilk, whole grains, tons of fruit, flax and whey powder fit the bill nicely – definitely a meal in a bar! Heavily adulterated from Jim Dodge’s "Breakfast Bar" recipe found in "The Best of FOOD" by Marion Kane.
